The Faculty offers two fields of study: Mathematics (since 1966) and Computer Science (taught in Polish since 1988 and in English since 1993). The two fields of studies were accredited by the State Accreditation Committee in 2004. The Mathematics field of study received an excellent grade for education quality through the Resolution No. 282/2010 of 25.03.2010 passed by the Presiding Board of the State Accreditation Committee. Scientific research is carried out in various areas of mathematics including algebra, analysis, geometry, discrete mathematics, financial mathematics, probability and statistics. In the area of computer science research includes artificial intelligence, neural networks and computer-aided design.
The low ratio of students to professors at Warsaw University of Technology’s Faculty of Mathematics and Information Science and the warm working relationship between students and instructors helps those studying to develop confidence in their ability to make significant contributions to engineering and research work.
