Past conferences

The idea of the International Multiconference on Computer Science and Information Technology is a result of an evolutionary process as well as a number of deliberate choices made during its development. The first conference was the Scientific Special Session that was organized within the framework of the XXI Autumn Meeting of Polish Information Processing Society and took place in the Golebiewski Hotel in Wisla, Poland, December 5-9, 2005.

Autumn Meetings of Polish Information Processing Society are one of the longest existing Polish conferences. While they are devoted to all aspects of computer science and information technology, they focus primarily on their business and administration related aspects. The Scientific Special Session, consisting of refereed contributions was an attempt to add the missing area – academic research.

Based on experiences gathered during the Scientific Session it was decided to keep the Scientific Session co-located with the Autumn Meetings, but expand its scope. This is how the First International Multiconference on Computer Science and Information Technology (FIMCSIT) was born. It was only after the conference was advertised that we have realized that, for the future conferences, it is better to not to use the “First” in the name. As a result, the 2007 conference has the simplified name: IMCSIT.
